Description

Social aspects are an integral part of today’s Web, and the widespread use of the Web to connect, share and tap into collective knowledge provides a wealth of actionable data.

Social Web data is valuable for many stakeholders, including developers, researchers, marketers, and decision-makers. Users and crowds play a central role in the generation of social knowledge, either passively as a result of interaction with social networks and social media; or actively, by means of the so-called crowdsourcing and human computation applications. Successfully tapping into the social data knowledge, and gathering, integrating, analyzing, and visualizing complex, heterogeneous social data, and putting it to good use are major current challenges.

The aim of this track is to solicit original contributions in three main areas related to the Social Web: Engineering and Applications of/for the Social Web; Social Web users analysis and modeling; and Social Web data management. We also welcome position papers exploring the potential of the Social Web beyond current models, technologies and applications, e.g. health, home automation, urban computing, etc.

For paper categories, submission instructions and deadlines, please see the ICWE submission page.
